This year we are delighted to be holding the conference in South America which we will hope will offer many more palliative care professionals to engage in the work of the Collaborative. This two-day conference brings together national and international leaders in palliative and end of life care to share best practice and discuss key themes for the next five years. The Collaborative currently has representatives from 21 countries worldwide, including patients, families, nursing, psychology, law, sociology, ethics, economics, public relations and medicine.

Before the Conference, for members and researchers of the International Collaborative only, we have organized a clinical day, the regular 24 hour research meeting and social activities (5th to 7th November).

On Friday 9th it will take place the First Argentinian Research Conference in Palliative Care jointly organized with the Argentinian Association of Palliative Care (AAMYCP).

The Institute Pallium Latinoamérica, the Palliative Care Argentinian Association (AAMYCP) and the Academic Council of Ethic in Medicine, End of Life Decisions (CAEEM), we look forward to welcoming you to Buenos Aires for what promises to be an exciting and enjoyable event!

History of the International Collaborative for Best Care for the Dying Person

The “Collaborative“ was established in 2014 by a group of leading international thinkers, practitioners and researchers in care for the dying, many of its original members having been part of the highly functioning group that delivered OPCARE9.

It brings together multidisciplinary practitioners in palliative and end of life care who wish to build the evidence base for best care for dying patients through collaborative knowledge transfer, clinical excellence, research, service innovation and quality improvement.
